A Special Invitation
Regional Workbench Consortium (RWBC) EXPO 2003,
Thursday, May 29, 2003 (8:00am-5:00pm),
University of California, San Diego, Institute of the Americas
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to the all-day May 29, 2003 "roll
out" of our Regional Workbench Consortium (RWBC). The RWBC is a
collaborative network of university and community-based partners
dedicated to linking science and technology to policy and planning (with
a focus on sustainable city-region development). You can view this as a
proactive approach to Homeland Security. The Regional Expo includes
an opening plenary (with poster and Solid Terrain Model displays, see
attached photo), 4 one-hour visualization and information technology
DEMOS, lunch and a closing reception. We have a strong crossborder
(U.S.-Mexico) emphasis.
Seating is limited. We can only accommodate 40 people per technology
demo. This means we have to limit the total enrollment to 160 people. We
anticipate that the space will fill up in the next couple of days (we
only have about 15 spaces left). UCSD-TV is currently broadcasting
a 30-minute documentary about the RWBC and the May 29 event. So, please
register right away if you are interested.
